As other reviewers have said the bed is as pictured and is beautiful. The bed is very solid. But the title of "Platform" is miss leading. As another reviewer has stated you need to use a box spring or purchase wood panels (or something) to make a platform across the metal slats (which are ~1 inch thick and ~11 inches apart). I don't know about you but a ~1 foot gap is hardly what I consider a platform!

As the title of my comment implies this bed required me to purchase a Tap (a device for threading the female screw holes) in order for me to be able to screw in the included larger 5/16in bolts. Exactly half of the screw holes on the headboard and the footboard needed to be re-threaded. This is not to say the screw holes were missing or that they were not threaded, but simply that the threading was not adequate for screwing of the bolts to take place.
