The Baroque bed, as its name implies, is very florid and ornate. The four inch posts are monstrous especially since they are topped with massive casted finials and sturdy feet. The 66-Inch high headboard grill is adorned with a large 19-Inch center casting and supported by 60-Inch high posts. The footboard - supported by 36-1/2-Inch posts, is a concave design that tips in the center. There are also large sloping side rails that are as fancifully decorated as the grills. Even the Gilded Slate finish is elaborate - it is a back base, with a hand-applied coat of mottled translucent white paint - which gives it a bluish hue, highlighted with gleaming gold. This bed is certainly a statement piece and will need a large room to contain it.

Purchased this bed in King size. It is beautiful. Very substantial and good weight. The perfect compliment to a king size mattress without being too massive. It's a dark grey coler with small amounts of gold tone running through it. I have 1990's oak furniture and it blends very nicely together. It came in 4 boxes and was fairly easy to put together. Buying online without seeing was scary, but we have no regrets. This bed exceeded our expectations.
