It's particle board and shipping caused some cracking of the pieces - since appearance isn't critical for this (it's holding paper!), it wasn't worth returning. However, the cost to quality ratio isn't very high. Since cardboard versions of this go for $80 and only hold 20, we went with this one thinking it would last longer. We'll see if that's the case.
